I need a help
So we’re pulling trim down around the Towner project. Under all the heavy lathe & plaster is a red brick fireplace. The front of the fireplace faces the family room. The back (red brick) is in the Master Bedroom. Should I pull all the l&p down. Repair replace the brick as needed then seal it nicely, making it a focal point in the room? Or should I drywall over it just creating a flat wall, hiding the fireplace?
Crappy celly pics but help ideas appreciated.

Focal Point! Fireplaces add warmth and ambiance!
frame it out ….shelves left ….brom closet right ….enter from side?????
oh it’s the living roommmmm….make that vac closet right …hutch type thingy left
the front of the fireplace is in the living room. the picture is in the master bedroom. so a utility closet isn’t gonna go over so well. so far i’ve got a fireplace crew coming out to regrout and sand blast the brick then we’ll seal it. non shiny. to the right is enuf space for someone to put a highboy dresser. to the left is the enuf wall space for the electrical and then the door begins. i’ll get some better pictures up today.
happy Tday!!
Love.
